Already finding yourself humming “The Christmas Song,” “Dreidel,” “Worth His Weight in Gold,” or another favorite tune of your holiday season?
Join Amy for a holiday-themed writing workshop that puts a fun spin on all those Christmas or holiday songs that play on a loop in your head throughout the season. The holidays can often hold a lot for military families – new places, unusual traditions, an unwrapped present under the Christmas tree…
Amy will take you through some fun writing prompts that will ask you about how you have had to adapt, change course, make do, or dig in over, through and around the holidays as a military spouse. Things like: We probably all know the Christmas classic, “I’ll Be Home for Christmas,” whether our favorite version is sung by Frank Sinatra, Bing Crosby or Kacey Musgrave. She’ll use that song and others to ask: What comes to mind when you take the word “Home” out of the title and say, “I’ll Be _______ for Christmas”? Write about it!
No need for prior writing experience to join this fun, festive group! Ours is a welcoming, judgment-free community. Participants will be able to share drafts or finished pieces, (if they feel comfortable doing so), with fellow participants without worry of negative critique.
Before You Register…
Because we want to ensure the deepest quality of experience in our Veteran’s Spouse Project offerings, we put a maximum participant number in place for every event. We understand that schedules get packed and emergencies happen, but please make every effort to commit to showing up. Every “no show” takes a space away from a milspouse who could truly benefit from the community and healing present in our offerings.
