Ever wish Great Aunt Erma’s famous fruitcake could magically bridge the gap between “newly PCS-ed” you and the latest circle of unknown milspouses at that unit holiday party? Find yourself wondering how to start a conversation with your neighbors about the mystery dish they brought to the neighborhood potluck?
VSP invites you to join our awesome community of spouses and AFI 2022 Ft Polk Spouse of the Year, Manda McVey, a.k.a. “The Healitary Spouse,” to dive deep into the power of holiday foods to explore and share our culture, backgrounds, and identities!
Join VSP and our guest facilitator, Manda Lynn McVey, in this fun Saturday morning workshop as we explore the connection between food and community-building. Manda will draw on her expertise as a chef and holistic nutrition & wellness practitioner to highlight how religious and/or cultural holiday foods can be a simple tool to both learn more about your community and to teach your community about you!
Before You Register…
Because we want to ensure the deepest quality of experience in our Veteran’s Spouse Project offerings, we put a maximum participant number in place for every event. We understand that schedules get packed and emergencies happen, but please make every effort to commit to showing up. Every “no show” takes a space away from a milspouse who could truly benefit from the community and healing present in our offerings.
