Peering through the window of our endless military homes and life, our perspectives shift, and often parts of us that we have held tight for years—if not forever—come tumbling to the page in VSP’s “Heart to Script.” In this workshop, you’ll see how theatre exists so words can be spoken into the open air, holding a mirror up to our humanity and creating a shared space to breathe in, exhale out and feel.
Join our resident playwright, Amy Uptgraft, in this one-day, evening session as she brings you in to that sacred “shared space” while helping you find your UNUSUAL piece of a usual story through writing prompts and targeted mindfulness. Amy will guide you to move your words from heart to the page, and you will walk away with a short theatrical monologue that speaks to a profound moment in your military life story.
